Closer Music was created in response to the growing demand for licensed access to music content, acting as a bridge between the business world and the realm of music. Its new website had to feature a music catalog with an integrated player, encompassing hundreds of hours of music created by artists from around the globe. The objective was to create a converting platform based on direct B2B channel communication, alongside the engineering challenge of developing a suitable architecture for file conversion and an efficient process for catalog management.
The website was aimed for two User groups: customers seeking licensed music and music creators. A simple yet engaging homepage was created, offering users a guide to dedicated sections tailored for both audience groups. All pages were designed with a no-dead-ends approach, ensuring seamless navigation between sections and preventing users from being left without finding their desired content.
The primary objective was to prompt Users to create an account for lead generation and introduce themselves with an extensive music catalog, ultimately leading to order placement. We opted to limit access to the catalog for logged-in users, while allowing non-logged-in users access to playlists featuring samples of various musical genres. As a result, the entire site's structure directed Users towards the Catalog, encouraging them to Sign in to gain access to all its features.
User Flows included Onboarding, adding tracks to the cart, placing an order, as well as account editing and deletion. All processes were designed to ensure efficiency, clearly indicating the action taking place and the subsequent step in the process. The website was integrated with the Mailchimp platform, automating email communication with Users at all stages of the Customer journey.
To build User loyalty, a feature allowing users to create a list of favorite tracks was incorporated. This enabled Users to revisit and edit their playlists when placing subsequent orders.
Such a large Catalog required appropriate tools to connect Users with the desired tracks. It was equipped with a search engine featuring dynamic suggestions based on tags assigned to the songs, along with a multi-level filtration system to narrow down the selection. All features are optimized for mobile devices, enabling users to log in, browse, play selected songs, and place orders on the go.
